  1. “DayZ creator Dean Hall recently spoke to Gamespot to discuss some of “DayZ’s” changes, which include a new engine, new server technology and a new early game."

So basically we get to experience a reboot of dayz standalone alpha?

    Ha.

  2. What do you mean? It's about how the gameplay of a fresh spawn is new/different from before. How is that a reboot of dayz sa alpha?

    You've got to be trolling

  4. Well, if the standalone doesn't turn out to be moddable, maybe DayZero could be ported into Arma3? In Arma3 epoch they just renamed the zombies into something else and Bohemia is not C&Ding them like they did with breaking point. Maybe they realize that they should allow the Arma3 modding community to thrive so they could monetize the next dayz-level success that comes up.

Ofcourse I don't think DayZero can ever attract huge crowds because it's hardcore PvP orientation, but a standalone/Arma3 port could ensure a sufficient level of popularity. This in turn would ensure that the community is preserved for the foreseeable future.

  5. They have said it will be moddable, so it's in the plans. Question is when it will first be possible, and what the state of the engine is by then. Probably not during alpha, maybe beta? or after... guh.
